EL BASURERO -- DUMP FIELD
Thousand of kids live in the cities' dump fields. They search for their daily foods in the garbage. They breath, eat, and sleep in mountains of garbage. We need to change this! Luv for kids has taken upon the mission to save these kids and their families from this unthinkable life.
KIDS OF STONES
Hundredths of kids do not get the opportunity to attend school because they need to help their families earn money to survive. In the pacific coast of Guatemala, kids are often seen by the side of the roads pounding on stones with their bare hands to make gravel for construction purposes. As a result, many of them have lost fingers.
FAIR TRADE
Many of the families have the ability to make crafts using ancient Mayan techniques. Luv for kids will help them increase their production, promote and sell their products overseas to create income and help their families get out of extreme poverty.
NUTRITIONAL AID
Levels of malnutrition are astronomical among kids in Guatemala. Access to basic food items is unreachable for these kids and their families. Luv for kids will implement a program that will feed as many kids as possible with the basic nutritional items that they need to survive.
KIDS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WORK
Kids need to be kids. Every child has the right to education, unfortunately for thousand of kids in Guatemala this right is as far away as the stars in the sky. Luv for kids will implement a program that will allow kids to attend school instead of working. By helping their families trade their products, this is possible!
EMPOWERING GIRLS
We want to empower young girls to believe for a better life. We want to help them achieve their dreams of education, and self independence. We want to help them break the cycle of physical abuse seen in their homes in many cases. We want to help them become strong women in this world.
